The Play the Game Journalism Fund is built on a simple principle: every contribution goes directly to paying independent journalists.
All projects funded through the Journalism Fund follow a transparent and structured editorial process, ensuring journalistic quality, accountability, and full independence from donors and external interests.
- Open calls for pitches and commissioned journalism
Freelance journalists are invited to submit story ideas aligned with Play the Game’s mission and editorial focus. Play the Game may also commission specific articles. - Editorial selection
Pitches are assessed by Play the Game based on relevance, quality, and feasibility. - Funding and production
Selected projects receive funding from the Journalism Fund to support reporting, research, and production. - Publication
All content is published on playthegame.org.
Editorial independence is guaranteed by Play the Game’s editorial charter.
