Swiss court rejects Russian paralympic’s appeal

Russia’s latest attempt to have paralympic athletes compete in Rio has been dismissed by a Swiss Supreme Court.

A Swiss Supreme Court has decided to dismiss the appeal by Russia to overturn the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) decision to issue a blanket ban on Russian paralympic athletes based on the findings in the so-called McLaren report describing Russian state-sponsored doping.

According to AP, the Swiss Supreme court stated that the Russian Paralympic Committee “had not demonstrated it had fulfilled all its obligations to anti-doping rules”.

Last week, CAS dismissed the Russian Paralympic Committee's appeal against the IPC decision.
