Play the Game Director bound for South American lecture tour

Thanks to an invitation by the Brazilian association for investigative journalism, Abraji, the International Director of Play the Game, Jens Sejer Andersen, will take off 21 June for a lecture and research tour in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil.

Abraji has invited Play the Game to speak about international sports governance during their annual 3-day congress which embraces an impressive number of themes, speakers and participants. The conference takes place in Sao Paulo from 30 June to 2 July, and registration is still open at http://abraji.org.br/?id=112

The congress is held in Portuguese, but the working language in sessions with foreign speakers is English.

Before going to Brazil, Jens Sejer Andersen will speak on the same issue at a one-day seminar on Friday the 24 June held in the Chamber of Deputies in the capital Buenos Aires. Apart from sports governance, this public event will deal with doping matters and with the serious situation with hooliganism and organized crime in Argentina.

The seminar is arranged by the group Salvemos al Fútbol (Let’s save football) which works to create a safer football environment, and by the sports editor of the newspaper Pagina/12, Pablo Vignone. You will be able to hear both organisers speak later in the year during Play the Game 2011.

The seminar is open to the public, but registration is necessary. The working language is Spanish.
