Play the Game close to launching bidding process for 2009 conference
If you dream about hosting an international sports conference in the future, this is the time to start mobilising your powers of persuasion to sell your bid and turn a dream into reality.
The executive board of Play the Game has decided to launch a bidding process within the next few weeks, aiming at selecting host organisation and conference venue for the 2009 edition of Play the Game, to be decided on or before June 1 2008.
“We are grateful to note that our successful conference in Iceland this autumn has sparked interest in hosting Play the Game in the first half of 2009,” says conference director Jens Sejer Andersen.
“In the weeks after our conference in Reykjavik, a number of individuals, organisation leaders and cities from Norway and the Netherlands have approached us with serious interest. We are now facing a new task, and that is to give an equally serious treatment of these requests. Therefore the board has asked me to plan an objective and transparent bidding round, exploring also if there are interested people and institutions out there whom we just have not heard from yet.”
The first step in the process will be launching a call for declaration of interests which will be published through this newsletter in the near future. Play the Game 2009 is expected to take place in the first half of the year.
