Senior sport officials give their view on the need for a World Anti-Corruption Agency, Part 4
Following an open letter to the International Olympic Committee calling for actions against corruption in sport, more senior officials have answered the question whether or not there is a need to establish a World-Anti-Corruption-Agency (WACA)?

“Questions of corruption or unethical questions are covered as far as the IOC is concerned by our Ethics Commission. We know that in the world of sport at large there are a lot of issues, some sports have to deal with match-fixing and betting problems. That is a serious issue and the IOC is tackling this problem within its sphere of responsibility for Olympic sports. I am sure that we’d be able to at least address these issues in the most responsible way.”

“On the issue of an Anti-Corruption-Agency within the sport I think if it’s necessary to have an Agency like that then we should install it. I hope it’s not necessary. With WADA it was, so we created WADA. I hope with Anti-Corruption we don’t need it.”
