Play the Game offers free live streaming from 19 conference sessions
19 of the 65 sessions at Play the Game 2024 will be live-streamed and available to watch for free on Play the Game's website as the conference progresses, and the videos will also be available on demand later.
More than 300 speakers are scheduled to speak in plenary and parallel sessions at Play the Game 2025, which will take place in Tampere, Finland, from 5-8 October 2025.
Those unable to attend the conference in person will be able to follow presentations and debates from 19 sessions, which will be live streamed for free on Play the Game's website and will also be available on demand later.
You will be able to follow four sessions on the conference's opening day, Sunday 5 October, which begins with a keynote speech by Maggie Nichols, the gymnast who was the first to report sexual abuse by a USA Gymnastics doctor – revelations which led to the uncovering of a major abuse scandal in American gymnastics.
She was initially known as 'Athlete A' during the investigation to protect her identity, but she has later shared her story publicly, shedding light on the system failures within USA Gymnastics and advocating for survivors.
Another session on the opening day will examine how sports and politics have become increasingly entwined in the U.S. and are embodied in President Donald Trump's actions. The day will close with a session about the high price paid by many whistleblowers who have spoken out about wrongdoings in sports.
In the following days, there will be five live streamed sessions each day on topics such as transgender athletes, geopolitics in football, the crisis of confidence in anti-doping work, and developments in the illegal gambling market, to mention just a few.
Below is the full list of planned live streams, which you can access on our website. Check the sessions against our full programme, which includes speakers and titles for their presentations.
All sessions marked with an asterisk* below will also be live streamed on Play the Game's LinkedIn profile.
