Born in Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Maranhão started his career as a member of the original team at sports daily Lance!.
In Brazil he also worked for O Globo and O Dia newspapers, web portal Globo.com and Globo TV, Latin America’s largest media network.
In 2005 Rafael moved to London where he worked as a correspondent for Brazilian publications such as Placar magazine and as a sports producer for Globo TV.
He has a Masters in Media and Communication Studies from Stockholm University and has been based in the Swedish capital since 2006, working as a stringer from Europe to Portuguese speaking media.
He worked for the Organizing Comittee of the Rio 2007 PanAm Games and covered the Euro2008 as a pundit for Brazilian channel SporTV. Rafael also collaborates with Swedish football magazine Offside. He has taken part in Play the Game since 2002. |
