Yves Kummer is a former international rugby player and has been involved in collective players representation since 1995, first as president of the Athletes Commission of the Dutch NOC.
Mr. Kummer was one of the founding members of the Dutch union of athletes, NL Sporter. NL Sporter represents the interests of 400 Dutch athletes (individual as well as collective).
In 2007, Mr. Kummer was elected president of the European Elite Athletes Association or EU Athletes, a federation of 25 athletes associations from all over Europe representing the collective interests of approximately 25.000 professional athletes.
EU Athletes is a European social partner with the objective of improving the position of the athletes. Anti-doping rules were identified as a priority issue for EU Athletes by its members at the annual meeting in 2007.
In daily life, Mr. Kummer is director of an advertising agency, is married with an former Dutch Olympic rower and has 2 energetic children.
