THE SHAMEFUL ADMITTANCE OF GUILT AND IGNORANCE OF THE IAAF During the last 43 years the IAAF has been conducting GENDER TESTING, as has the IOC, leaving behind a gruesome trail of abused and mistreated athletes, broken careers and broken lives.
In their frightful ignorance they have been playing god, deciding over human beings, not concerning sport, but concerning the very nature of human beings, by what method they, in their hopeless stupidity, have seen fit at any given time, changing their methods all along as soon as one method after the other was deemed wrong and useless.
The leaders and their medical “experts” have acted as the witch doctors of modern time.
And now at last, after all these years, the ivory towers of these self appointed gods and kings have collapsed and their wrongdoings have been disclosed to all the world. With the CASTER s****AYA case they have finally been forced to admit that they do not know how to decide the gender of a human being !! That is what I have been telling them ever since 2003, but they refused to listen, and when I persisted, they refused me my democratic right of speaking at the IAAF Congress.
In the ASSOCIATED PRESS release below is stated that:
“The IAAF PLANS to develop a gender definition”
“It would have been better if we had been prepared to, but we were not prepared(*)”, Weiss told The Associated Press on Saturday”.
(* prepared as to how to perform gender testing)
And now they will “start next week to examine how to determine gender”.
WHAT ! - NEXT WEEK ?! This comes after the IAAF and the IOC for 43 years have been stating that they knew how to do it, and have been executing, all through these years, their mumbojumbo on innocent athletes.
How can these people remain in charge of international athletics and international sport ?

A very important change emerging from the 1999 IOC Reforms had to do with the introduction of term-limits for the Presidency and Executive Board. While the IOC Charter does say that NOC Charters must model themselves after it, few if any International Federations have followed suit on this important issue of term-limits.
For example the World Karate Federation has no term-limits and unlike the IOC Charter requires a 4-year Executive Committee term of service for all Presidential candidates (and to get into the EC one must be on the current Presidential platform), thereby preventing at-large candidates from the Congress of national federations from contesting.
The 1999 Reforms also empowered athletes and women by giving them more votes, but in the World Karate Federation, the Athletes Commission is merely a cosmetic unit with no voting rights in the EC. They are merely invited to attend EC meetings.

What advice do the conference speakers have for IFs to protect themselves from being 'hi-jacked' by influential individuals or special interest groups? Would they agree with advice I was given by a professor of psychiatry that one thing worse than a psychopath is someone who tolerates a psychopath, and that a good way to limit potential damage by those with such tendencies is for influential positions in an IF to have limited short terms of office?

The IOC is among the world's least accountable organisations according to a report published in December 2008 by one of the world’s leading global governance think tanks, the One World Trust.
In the 'Global Accountability Report' the IOC received the lowest overall score in the report with 32%.

If this is true then its little wonder that the level of lack of accountability in so widespread in other cricketing bodies. I live in the Caribbean and the problems of our cricket can be about 80 percent blamed on the West Indies Cricket Board. The Board members seem to see themselves as leading their own personal fiefdom and see no reason to explain or justify their decisions to the Caribbean people in general and cricket lovers in particular. They commission a report and when the recommendations are not in keeping with what they want to hear they file it away without implementing much needed recommendations that would improve this beautiful game. Can we say lack of accountability!

I\'ve read the articles of Robinson with great interest and agree that it is problematic that in the year 2009, sports women still struggle with gender inequality. This was indeed shoking reading as I had not been aware that female skiiers and bikers weren\'t granted equal rights to participate. And especially the note on the fact the women volley ball players are forced into wearing those skimpy shorts for the viewing pleasure of the male audience is simply appaling. I wonder why they didn\'t fight the dress code harder, since it\'s no less than terrible.
I do hope that things will change soon.

I am doing some research on this topic and am still uncertain whether this is a big issue to the extent that many people are affected by it.
I would like to know about the articles by Robinson which are mentioned in the Play the game blog. I am working on issues related to gender, more specifically on female soccer. In the last Female Soccer World Cup the subject of the wardrobe came up when J.Blatter, president of FIFA ordered that tight uniforms should be worn by female players, and going even further, L.Johansson, at that point president of UEFA, asked that they war sweated jerseys in order to ensure a masculine audience. I just published a book(2/20/09) on the international federation that represents "Olympic" karate entitled "History-Sociology-Politics of the World Karate Federation(WKF). While the big federations like FIFA get the "attention" the issues are the same. First political corruption through the accumulation of disproportionate power by manipulation of statutes and other democratic norms, and then the use of such accumulated power for economic gains for the few.
If you study the Olympic Charter such developments are almost a logical conclusion. The "mother" of all sports organizations the IOC is the source and inspiration/model for corrupt practices in member sports federations. Every effort is made to remain a private club with little or no public scrutiny even when athletes are funded by their governments in long years of preparations for the Olympics. This "policing themselves" practice is a failure and the great Samaranch-era corrupt practices merely confirm this. Nothing has changed even with greater scrutiny under Jacques Rogge as long as the IOC is in private hands, away from public scrutiny. The UN should take over the management of international sports and not leave it in the hands of a small private club. Very interesting your commentaries about political corruption that small federations suffer. i would like to take your book, Ihave one too about the female soccer. i could send you., if you send me your address. Never thought of checking for responses and so sorry for this late note. I wish my Spanish was anywhere close to your English. Glad to note that you have published a book along the same line of thought on female soccer. Our webpage was just completed as raghavan-markosek-karatebookwkf.com. Can you send me exerpts of your book that I may read on line? The "war" against corrupt practices in sports must go on in small and big ways, here, there and everywhere. Let's continue the fight undaunted.
I was hoping to be at the 2009 Play the game Conference in Coventry University/England, but received the OK late to make changes within my budget. I return from book related seminars in Europe on 5/25 and the Conference begins on 6/8. So it will have to be another time. Mucho dinero. I was to be on a panel "beside" the great Andrew Jennings, but alas no luck-ha!ha! I am sure you have alerted him of your book no? He is the Man for football matters.
