1) FIFA gets partial ban on sale of new book by Jennings

 

In the week of World Press Freedom Day, investigative reporter Andrew Jennings has finally published his book “Foul!” with stories about bribes, vote-rigging and ticket scandals in FIFA.

 

It happened in the face of massive resistance from FIFA which has tried to stop the publication since September last year. Recently FIFA succeeded in getting a ban on the sale of the book in Switzerland.

2) Goijman gives up appealing verdict in Volleygate

 

Mario Goijman has given up on his plans to appeal the verdict in the Volleygate case. Instead he stands for election to FIVB Board of Administration.

Denmark has won the bid to host the 2007 Homeless World Cup where teams of homeless people from 48 countries will meet to kick off poverty.

In Bangladesh, the government has set up an independent inquiry to find out why police attacked 20 sports journalists and photographers during the lunch break in a cricket match between Bangladesh and Australia.
