1) French NOC president in court on corruption charges

The President of the French Olympic Committee, Henri Serandour, appeared in court last week charged with being a little too helpful to the company that employed his wife.

2) IOC’s Ethics Commission punishes Drut despite French pardon

French IOC member, Guy Drut, was pardoned by the French president of his corruption conviction. But IOC’s Ethics Commission still decided to reprimand him.

A new report from European Tour Operators Association claims that cities hosting Olympic Games experience slumps in tourism after the games.

The European Commission has started a lengthy consultation process with stakeholders in European sport in preparation for a 2007 White Paper on the role of sport in Europe.

Italy ’s Sports Minister and the Italian football federation have flatly rejected suggestions of an amnesty to those involved in the current match fixing scandal.

The Spanish authorities owe the world an explanation for how it has handled the publication of information in the Spanish doping scandal, says Danish professor of law and head of Anti-doping Denmark.
