1) Kenyan government deports sports developer Bob Munro
A week after FIFA’s decision to suspend Kenya from international football, the Kenyan government cracks down hard on clubs as well as individuals in Kenyan football. Sports minister Maina Kamanda has dissolved the Kenya Football Federation (KFF) and has also begun the process of deporting one of KFF’s strongest critics, Canadian born Bob Munro.

In a comment, Play the Game's director Jens Sejer Andersen writes: With this outrageous assault on an individual who for years have worked 24 hours a day to create better living conditions for the poorest children and teenagers in the slum of Nairobia, the Kenyan government shows its disregard for democracry, the individual rights of citizens and all of its people.

We, the undersigned, are concerned about the decision made by the Kenyan government to deport Bob Munro from Kenya.
Munro has made extremely valuable contributions to sport and development in Kenya and been instrumental in the efforts to clean up corruption in Kenyan football.
We therefore urge the government in Kenya to reconsider the decision to deport Munro.
