Nicoláz Leoz, a FIFA executive member and president of the South American football confederation Conmebol, has been accused by Swiss magistrates of receiving bribes from ISL/ISSM.

2) Calls on FIFA to lit its intolerable ban on Jennings


The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has written to FIFA to demand that it lifts its intolerable ban on investigative reporter Andrew Jennings and allows him back into press conferences.

3) Eccentric chess president wants to be president of IOC

 

The president of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, has plans to stand as president of the IOC in order to attract more attention to chess as a sport. Ilyumzhinov is an eccentric who is also president of the Russian republic of Kalmykia and claims he was once abducted by aliens.

4) Judge rules Balco reporters must talk or go to jail

 

A federal judge has sent investigative sports journalists Mark Fainaru-Wada and Lance Williams to prison because they refuse to reveal who leaked them secret grand jury testimonies from athletes.

FIFA vice president Jack Warner claims he was set up by officials in FIFA but is not expected to sue afterall.

6) Greenpeace tries to stop Olympic constructions in Sochi

 

The environmental organisation has filed a suit with Russia’s Supreme Court to block the construction of sporting facilities around Sochi in Western Caucasus that is bidding to host the Winter Games 2014.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has tightened its anti-racism code and will throw out spectators guilty of racial abuse.

Canadian award-winning author, Laura Robinson, gives us inside knowledge on the disturbing story of Canadian Hockey League player Michael Danton who was arrested in 2004 on conspiracy to murder. He had convinced his girlfriend at the time to try to arrange to have his NHL agent, David Frost, murdered. The agent David now faces the court charged with numerous counts of sexual exploitation as well as assault charges.
