1) FIVB will not give the three millions it promised the UN

 

The FIVB has changed its mind about three million dollars it promised the UN in the immediate aftermath of the 2004 tsunami. The UN can not guarantee that all money will be used for volleyball purposes so now the FIVB itself wants to distribute the money.

2) FIFA takes action against Croatian fans forming swastika

 

FIFA has opened proceedings against the Croatian Football Federation after Croatian fans formed a human swastika in the stands before a match between Croatia and Italy.

Chinese anti-doping officials have uncovered a case of collective doping at a sports school for young athletes. The case highlights China’s special doping problem amongst young athletes.

A Swedish anti-doping organisation has lost its director – a former athlete who was picked up by the police for sniffing cocaine at a party celebrating the end of the European championships in track and field.

Bhamjee was exposed for selling tickets for World Cup matches at three times their nominal value and now he has lost or given up all his posts in African football.

6) US Judge rules that Balco reporters must give up source of leak

 

A federal judge has ruled that two US reporters must disclose the source of leaked documents that helped them break open the Balco case. The reporters refuse and risk going to jail.
