This is a special issue of the Play the Game newsletter which brings you news from the trial against president Ruben Acosta of the FIVB, former FIVB secretary general Jean-Pierre Seppey and a former FIVB controller Franz Schmied. The trial opened in Lausanne on Wednesday and concluded yesterday. However, the judge deferred making a ruling until next week.

 

 

1) Ruben Acosta demands an end to Goijman’s “game of vindictiveness"

 

Nobody sees it, nobody knows and Ruben Acosta takes the money. So are the accusations of Mario Goijman against the FIVB. On day two of the Volleygate case the defence demanded an end to this "game of vindictiveness." The judge called the case "complicated" and deferred making a ruling.
