1) DISCOUNT ON REGISTRATION EXTENDED UNTIL 12 SEPTEMBER

We have received quite a few last minute registrations up to 1 September which was the original cut off point for getting a discount on conference fees. Therefore we have decided to extend the early bird discount on registration until 12 September. 

 

2) CALLING CANDIDATES FOR THE PLAY THE GAME AWARD 2005

Play the Game wishes to pay tribute to an individual or a group of persons who in their professional careers or as volunteers in sport have shown remarkable personal courage and commitment to creating a better sports community. Please help us by nominating your candidates.

The first winner of the Play the Game Award was Canadian freelance journalist, Laura Robinson. She got the award for exposing the culture of rape that underlies Canadian junior hockey.

3) RECIPIENTS OF TRAVEL GRANTS TO PLAY THE GAME 2005

The board of Play the Game has awarded travel and/or conference grants to 21 journalists, academics and sport leaders from less privileged countries.
