Particpants deem Play the Game 2005 a success
97 per cent of the respondents said that their overall impression of the conference was either very good (62.2 per cent) or good (34.8 per cent). And an overwhelming majority would like to come back for the next Play the Game conference planned for 2007.
The secretariat has produced a brief summary of answers to the 20 questions in the survey, and amongst the key findings are:
- Play the Game 2005 had 276 participants from 43 different countries
- Perhaps surprisingly in the digital age, the most effective PR for the conference was by word of mouth from a friend or colleague. Play the Game's newsletters and website came only second and third.
- The themes deemed both the most relevant and with the best contents were "Crime and Corruption in Sport: A Strategy for Change", "Anti-Doping: Ethical Principles vs. Rules of Law" and "The Media: Part of the Fan Crowd or Watchdog for the Public."
- There was a general wish to get more time for networking at future conferences.
- 76,4 per cent of all respondents feel that Play the Game is developing in a positive direction.
