Sign up for EASM 2012 now for the early bird discountA number of interesting speakers are ready to give you the latest on international sports management and sport politics at the three day conference, EASM 2012.
A great number of delegates and speakers have already signed up for EASM 2012, which takes place in Aalborg, Denmark on 18-21 September. The title of the conference is 'Sport between business and civil society' and international keynote speakers are ready to provide their views on the future of international sports management. Register for the conference before 30 June and save 50 Euro on the conference fee. The theme of EASM 2012 reflects the dynamics and the rivalry between the traditional sports sector, based on volunteering and non-profit values, and sport as a profit-making tool affected by growing commercialisation and professionalisation of elite sports and professional sports. Almost 300 scientific and practical abstracts have been submitted for the conference. It is the first time that the European Association for Sport Management (EASM) is holding its annual conference in Denmark, where the rapidly growing sport management environment is looking forward to sharing inspiration, knowledge and research with delegates from all over Europe and beyond. On the conference, Play the Game will host its own symposium, where we invite you to learn more about some of the critical issues for contemporary world sport that were highlighted and discussed on the Play the Game 2011 conference in Cologne and to contribute to the ongoing debate. Prominent keynote speakers Mark Pieth, the head of FIFA’s Independent Governance Committee, will give his views on his work of cleaning up FIFA and will give a keynote address under the working title ’Democracy and transparency: European privileges or global values?’.
