Dr Richard Elliott is Director of the Lawrie McMenemy Centre for Football
Research based at Southampton Solent University.

He is a leading figure in the area of athletic migration having studied the involvement of foreign players in a number of professional sports. His most recent research has examined various dimensions of foreign player involvement in the Premier Academy League. Richard is a published author in the area of foreign player involvement in professional sport and is regularly invited to speak
at conferences in the UK and Europe. 

He is a recognised academic contact for the Football Association and has worked in conjunction with the Premier League. He also provides support for the media, appearing in the global electronic and print media and, most recently, on Brazilian and Lithuanian television, and the BBC.
