StreetGames is the only national charity in the UK which is dedicated to overcoming the barriers to working class participation in sport. Jane Ashworth is its founding Chief Executive.
Previously, Jane worked for almost a decade at Sport England including 3 years seconded to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit where she developed the connections between sport and regeneration.
Jane has worked for Newcastle, Knowsley and Salford City Councils in community development and strategic roles.
A keen but useless tennis player, Jane is first and foremost a football fan. Her greatest sporting achievement was to guide a youth club side from the Cowgate estate in Newcastle up through the divisions to the FA Women’s Premiership.
