Dr. Ivan Waddington (Director) was for many years Director of the Sir Norman Chester Centre. He has a longstanding interest in both the sociology of sport and the sociology of health, and many of his research interests bridge these two areas of study.
He has recently completed a major research report with Martin Roderick for the Professional Footballers Association on the roles of the club doctor and physiotherapist in professional football. His book Sport, Health and Drugs was published in January 2000 by SPON.
He currently works as a visiting professor at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in Oslo and at the University of Chester in the UK |
