Professor David Rowe is Director of the Centre for Cultural Research (CCR) at the University of Western Sydney, Australia.
He joined the Centre for Cultural Research in March 2006 from the Cultural Institutions and Practices Research Centre (CIPS) at the University of Newcastle, Australia, where he was Founding Director and Professor in Media and Cultural Studies.
His books, which have been translated into several languages, include the co-authoredGlobalization and Sport: Playing the World (2001, Sage), Sport, Culture and the Media: The Unruly Trinity (second edition, 2004, Open University Press), and the edited Critical Readings: Sport, Culture and the Media (2004, Open University Press).
David is also a frequent commentator in print, electronic and online media.
