Doping fitness and the changing bodies

Doping is widespread not only in elite sports but also in fitness centers across the world and it is a highly underestimated problem.

In this paper, Alice Riis Bach presents striking research that points out that doping use is often a sign of low self esteem, shame or other unconscious emotions that lead to an unhealthy desire to change the body.

Women are not alone when it comes to eating disorders and the use of doping in fitness centers is the manifestation of a new type of eating disorder from which men primarily suffer.
