The Play the Game conference offers a unique forum for dialogue on sport. Over 12 years and five world conferences, Play the Game has become the only international forum where leading stakeholders meet face-to-face in free and fact-based debates about the most important challenges to modern sport.
The sixth Play the Game world communication conference on sport and society will take place in Coventry, UK.
The conference’s main venue for opening and plenary sessions will be Coventry Cathedral, a site marked by old and recent history and with the university and room for workshops and parallel sessions within short walking distance.
The exact programme content will be decided later this year by Play the Game’s Programme Committee, to which a number of international experts and Coventry locals will be appointed.
Themes currently under discussion include:
- The legacy of the Beijing Olympics - What did we learn?
- London 2012 - Can a mega-event boost the daily sports life?
- Match-fixing - Attacking the core of sport
- Gene doping - Distant threat or harsh reality?
- Development - Can sport promote reconciliation and peace?
- Bribes or benefits: Will sports federations come clean?
- Paralympic athletes - More different than the rest?
