Sigmund Loland 

 

Professor, Rector, The Norwegian School of Sport Sciences

 


 

Sigmund Loland Dr. scient. Sigmund Loland is professor of sport philosophy and rector at The Norwegian School of Sport Sciences where he teaches and researches in sport philosophy, theory of science, and sport and ethics.

 

He has published extensively in national and international journals on topics such as sport ethics, the epistemology of movement, the history of ideas of sport, and sport and ecology.

Loland is the former president of The International Association for the Philosophy of Sport, and is General Secretary and chair of the Financial Affairs Committee at the European College of Sport Science. He is International Fellow in The American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education and a member of WADA’s Ethical Issues Review Panel.

 

Sigmund Loland is the author of several books scholarly books; three edited and four single authored.
