Geoff Schoenberg

Geoff Schoenberg, PhD is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Sport Research at Deakin University as well as a New Generation Network Scholar at the Australia India Institute at the University of Melbourne. His current project is focused on sport governance in India which has recently been supported by the awarding of a grant from the Australia-India Council. Previous projects have included researching board member behaviours as well as CEO succession planning. Geoff also teaches the Sport Leadership and Governance unit at Deakin University.

Prior to entering academia, Geoff worked in event management with a speciality in managing and overseeing volunteers; most notably, he was the Volunteer Operations Manager for 3000 volunteers for WorldSkills Calgary 2009. Geoff has previously sat on a range of boards including the Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand and currently sits on the board of Squash and Racquetball Victoria.
