Philipp Müller -Wirth

Philipp holds an MBA in Economics and Finance from the University of Cologne. He joined UNESCO in 1991 and has worked in two main areas:  for most of his UNESCO career, he was the focal point for partnerships with the business community; in 2012 he joined the Sport and Anti-doping Programme.

Philipp was the focal point for UNESCO’s 5th World Conference of Sport Ministers (MINEPS V) that was held in Berlin from 28-30 May 2013 and chaired the drafting group that elaborated the “Declaration of Berlin”. He is coordinating the follow-up of the Declaration and its monitoring by governments and other stakeholders.

He is also steering the revision of the International Charter of Physical Education and Sport, and provides the Secretariat to UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS).
