Scott Jedlicka’s primary research focus is sport governance. Specifically, he examines the strategies and methods through which sport organizations pursue their objectives within broader political environments, as well as the ways in which sport is conceptualized and employed by political actors. Employing a diverse set of qualitative, quantitative, and historical methodologies, as well as training in sport policy analysis, his research emphasizes the dual influence of political context and the particular nature of sport upon the policymaking process. The goal of this research is to develop more rigorous theoretical conceptualizations of sport’s relationship to policy and politics.
