Szabolcshorvath

Szabolcs Horváth, born 16 May 1974 in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. Currently, member of the cabinet of Tibor Navracsics European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport.

Between 2004 and 2014 he held various jobs in the European Commission. More recently he was a policy officer in DG Competition doing cartel and merger cases and serving in the horizontal strategy unit directly attached to the director general.

Between 2010 and 2012 he was seconded from the European Commission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and served in the cabinet of Enikő Győri, minister of state for European Affairs.

 He started his career in 2009 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working for Hungary's accession negotiations to the EU. 

He holds a university degree in law from ELTE University (Hungary) and one in economics from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences. He worked as a junior lecturer at the Budapest College of Foreign Trade faculty of international relations and EU integration between 2000 and 2004.
