Mayumi Ya-Ya Yamamoto, Ph.D. is Senior Manager of JADA after working for Standards and Harmonisation of World Anti-Doping Agency. YaYa is responsible for JADA’s overall development of policy and strategy as well as research and education programmes.
As soon as the TOKYO 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games was awarded, the bid legacy commitment, Sport for Tomorrow, was launched. “PLAY TRUE 2020” is one of its three main legacy pillars and she is leading its project to deliver the sporting values-based programmes, for example, building and extending partnerships and capacity development and creating the non-verbal manga movie to deliver good values message. She liaises with the government and one of the focused areas for policy development is around the Asian capacity development.
Part of her doctorial thesis was around the anti-doping policy development and she has some teaching background. She is also involved in the development of research around the Olympic education and Olympic studies and in sport policy analysis with a number of publications.
