Emanuel jointly founded ICSS EUROPE with the President of ICSS, Mohammed Hanzab in 2014 and is CEO, having served as a member of the ICSS Advisory Board during 2013 to 2014.
A lawyer by background, Emanuel is currently a Member of the Advisory Committee of the World Economic Forum (PACI-IU), Member of the EU Expert Group on Good Governance in Sport, Ambassador of Sports Ethics of Portugal and a Member of the International Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) since 2013.
In 2005 Emanuel founded and was CEO of the Association of European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) for a period of nine years.
He was a member of UEFA's Strategy Board, Professional Football Committee and several Task Forces (2004-2014) and a member of FIFA's Club Football Committee, Task Force for The Good of The Game, FIFA Task Force on International Match Calendar, Task Force on Agents' Regulatory Reform (2007-2014).
In 2008 Emanuel founded the European Social Dialogue in Professional Football Sector under the auspices of the European Commission and lead the employers' delegation and was General Director of the Portuguese Football League during 2000 to 2006.
