THE FOUNDERS OF PLAY THE GAME
Play the Game is founded by the three main sports organisations in Denmark in close cooperation with the International Federation of Journalists.
 | The National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark (DIF) is an umbrella organisation for 56 national sports federations with a combined membership of 1.6 million. DIF is also the national Olympic Committee and is responsible for the Danish participation in the Olympic Games. |
Danish Gymnastics and Sports Associations (DGI) is an umbrella organisation for 5000 local sports clubs with a combined membership of 1.3 million. Working through sport and other cultural activities, the objective of DGI is to strengthen voluntary organisational activity in order to promote popular education. DGI appoints one member to the board of Play the Game |  |
 | Danish Federation of Company Sports (DFIF) is an umbrella organisation for 8.000 company sports clubs with a combined membership of 340.000. Through the workplace DFIF aims to stimulate interest in sports, exercise and community spirit. DFIF appoints one member to the board of Play the Game |
The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) is the world’s largest organisation for journalists and represents around 500.000 members in more than 100 countries. IFJ promotes action to defend press freedom and social justice. IFJ is opposed to discrimination of all kinds and believes in freedom of political and cultural expression.
