1) Mario Goijman recieves Play the Game Award
Mario Goijman, former president of the former Argentine Volleyball Federation, was today awarded the Play the Game Award for his courage and commitment in bringing to light the theft and corruption that has taken place in the International Volleyball Federation during the reign of FIVB-president Ruben Acosta.

2) Michel Zen-Ruffinen calls on the public to hold sports organisations accountable
The former general secretary of FIFA, Michel Zen-Ruffinen, wrapped up the Play the Game conference by stating that international sport organisations need new rules or structures in order to counter corruption and improve governance. He also called for the public and the media to act as prosecutors on behalf of sport.

On the final day of Play the Game 2005, participants agreed on Statement on Integrity and Anti-Corruption in Sports which calls for zero tolerance of corruption in sport.
