The title of Laine’s presentation is “How Newspapers’ Sport Pages Withstand the Digital Pressure – Comparative Analysis of Finnish and Swedish Tabloid Newspapers“.

The presentation is part of his ongoing dissertation research, which should be finished by the end of 2009. Working title of the dissertation is 'Sport Journalism in Finnish and Swedish Tabloid Newspapers'.

Laine is a Master of Sport Sciences, Sport Pedagogics as a major (University of Jyväskylä, 2003). As a secondary subject he has studied Communication Sciences.

Laine is also professional bandy player (current club: IFK Helsinki)
