Play the Game cooperates actively with partners from the worlds of politics, sport, academia and journalism.
Political partners:
Transparency International
(TI) is the only international NGO devoted to combating corruption. TI has an International Secretariat and 85 independent national chapters. Play the game and Transparency International are joining forces to gather information on corruption in sports and promote models for anti-corruption policies.
Sports partners:
2005: United Nations' Year of Sport and Physical Education
has the support of all governments to help developing sport programmes that can combat extreme poverty, conflict and HIV/Aids, improve public health, and contribute to the realisation of the Millenium Development Goals.
Streetfootballworld
is a project of the German based Youth Football Foundation. It recognises and celebrates the role of grassroots football in society and supports the development of this sport as complementary to associated football. Streetfootballworld runs projects all over the world.
Team Danmark
is responsible for the overall planning of elite sports in Denmark. Team Danmark recruits, trains and supports athletes and also co-operates with media, sponsors and local authorities on providing facilities for elite sports. The vision for Team Danmark is: Denmark - the best place in the world to be a top athlete.
Academic partners:
The International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)
serves as an international "umbrella" organisation to promote and disseminate results and findings in the field of sport science and their practical application in cultural and educational contexts. Currently about 200 organisations and institutions from approximately 60 countries world-wide are ICSSPE members.
IAMCR Media and Sport Section
is a group of international scholars interested in the field of media and sport. The group meets at the annual conference of International Association of Media and Communication Research to present papers on sport and media.
Journalistic partners:
Sportnetzwerk
is a German network for sports journalists, scientist, students and sport officials. The network facilitates debates on the role of sport in society and aims to raise the quality of sports journalism through discussion, education and research projects.
The Danish School of Media and Journalism
was the first place in Denmark to offer a recognised course of professional journalism education and so far it is the only place in Denmark where journalists, photo journalists and video journalists are educated in close co-operation under the same roof. The school also plays a significant role in the Third World and Central and Eastern Europe by contributing towards the development of a free press by means of journalism training courses.
DR Sport (Danish Broadcasting Corporation)
Employing 40 people, DR Sport is a fully integrated multi media editorial department. DR Sport is present on the television, radio, web, teletext and cell phone platforms. DR Sporten has special competences within the areas of news, documentary and investigative reporting. Head of Sport is Mr. Olav Skaaning Andersen
